Odd Socks? Why do I dislike sorting socks so much? Of any job as a housewife this has to be the WORST of all! Because I totally dislike it I tend to let them pile up instead of just sorting them. So today I decided that enough is enough time to get this job done! First pile to tackle.... Ok, I got very excited when I looked at this pile - I noticed after a bleach soak and wash several socks just weren't clean enough.  So in the garbage they go.  Less to sort. As I sit sipping a Chai Tea and munching on a shortbread cookie in front of the fireplace I am thinking about the past year.  And it has been a year of challenge and growth for me in many ways.  I am remembering the good times, the frustrations, and the surprises that have entered my life.   I am also thanking God for the strength and wisdom he has given me as a mom. Over the year I went through the feelings of "the Lasts" as our youngest son graduated from High School.  For me it was a season of my life that ended and I really wasn't ready.  You see I have always been very active in my boys lives. What is your favorite cookie?   Annual Cookie Baking Day 2011!   This is one of my most treasured times with my sisters, cousin, and my mom.   This list is created at Thanksgiving, I do the shopping, and set up my kitchen.   I tuned my oven on at 6:30 a.m. and it was turned off around 5:00p.m. The supply table Jackie is the " Mix Master"  she can double a recipe and keeps the schedule going throughout the day Mom is the "Scooper"  and can scoop pretty quickly! Big News in the Kern Family… 2011 We started our 2011 with an adorable little dog(my Christmas gift). He is a Corgi and his name is “Gus Gus”. He has been a great addition to our family and has a great “dog” sense of humor. The months went by quickly to Tim’s Graduation from H.S. Mom was not so excited as Tim is our youngest and it meant there were a lot of “lasts” for our family. Tim decided to go to WCTC for Graphic Design, however, the program was full so he is currently working on his Printing Diploma. This past week he received his letter of acceptance into the Graphic Design Program for fall of 2012. He is

What are you thankful for? Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year. I sit and ponder all the blessings God has given me over the past year. A tradition every year at our dinner table on Thanksgiving is to go around and everyone shares what they are thankful for.
