Are you a mom that never seems to stop…by Nanette

College from home…

College week has started for our boys. They each have decided to live at home while going to college.

Which would you choose college at home and good home cooked meals

or

a package of Ramen Noodles in your dorm room?

Number 1 Son – has had to do some searching to decide what field he wants to study.

Some kids just don’t know when they graduate from high school what direction they want to take.

He originally thought auto motive repair was the way to go.

I thought this was a good choice since the program was a learn as you work on the car.

He decided after a semester or so that he liked working on cars but he didn’t see himself being stuck working in a garage all his life without a lot of people

interaction. (we have always thought he would make a great salesman – let’s just say he sold us on a lot of stuff while he was growing up – most of it in a good way).

He then decided to pursue Business Management – that wasn’t it either – lots of reading and report writing – who would like that anyway?

He then took a year off and now is taking general education classes because he is realizing the fact that he needs an education to make it in our world.

Number 2 Son – is entering his 3 semester of Criminal Justice. He has it in his mind that a K-9 officer is the way to go. He loves animals and is very rule orientated.

I think this is a great option for him.

Number 3 Son – always wanted to be physical therapist and then after taking a graphics art classes fell in love with it.

He is starting his first semester in the graphic arts program.

The decision to choose what they want to do for the rest of their lives it not easy.

We have always told them whatever they decide to do for their career we just want them to be happy and enjoy the job.

Good luck to your sons in whatever they end up doing, Nanette. It can be a difficult time, especially when you’re not sure what you want to do. By the way, I lived at home when I was in college, too. First with my parents and then with my husband! :)

It’s fun to have them at home still
